Someone – according to Google there’s some debate as to whether it was Benjamin Franklin or Albert Einstein – once said that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. Which must be why, every year for the last five years, I have participated in NaNoWriMo (an insane indeavour in which crazy people all over the internet try to write a 50,000-word novel in 30 days) and every year for the last five years I have failed spectacularly. Clearly, I must be nuts, because not only do I plan on doing it to myself again this year, I’m going to do it twice. Once in November, and once in July for JulNoWriMo (an insane indeavour in which crazy people all over the internet try to write a 50,000-word novel in 31 days). Cuz that one extra day is going to make everything so much better.
Fellow writers can sign up for the insanity here.
